Fabulous Foodies: Breakfast of Champions
Over the weekend I was introduced to an amazingly simple solution for breakfast on-the-go.
My cute little puppy Bradley Superstar is still adjusting to our move from California to DC and to punish me for uprooting our lives he has decided we should go for a walk hours before I actually have leave the house; So I walk him...at the crack of dawn, go back to sleep for 3 hours, THEN get up, leave the house and realize I'm starving!
This is where The Smoothie comes in...it takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, you can enjoy it while you walk the dog, and by adding things like Flax Seed, you can get way more nutrition than any breakfast sandwich can provide.
What you'll need:
1. At night cut up the fruit (for strawberries simply rinse them, cut the green leaves and top off, for mangoes remove skin and cut into slices) and freeze each fruit separately
2. In the morning put the following into the blender:
4. Stir mixture
5. Blend on low using puree setting for an add'l 30 sec if needed
6. Pour into portable tumbler
7. Sip while walking the dog and enjoy!
